How to pass a bridge

Nuno Avelar will give you usefull tipps and tricks how you are able to do the obstacles. Those tipps are also useful outside working equitation. Because all obstacles from working equitation come from real requirements on your daily work with horses. For example you will see how to pass the bridge where many horses are afraid of.

Riding forward and backward with slalom

MODULE 1: Bridge

Many horses are afraid of passing a bridge. Nuno Avelar will show you with a complete young untrained horse, how to pass the bridge. After a very short time of training with the tipps of Nuno Avelar the horse passes the bridge easy without fear.

MODULE 2: Door

Passing a door is part of nearly every working equitation competition. In this module you will learn the different ways how to pass the door and how your horse will get used to it.

MODULE 3: Single Slalom

The single slalom you have to ride in gallop with a flying change. A green horse is not able to do this. You will learn how to bring your horse to do the Slalom as it is required.

MODULE 4: Two Barrels

The two barrels requires the same number of steps going around the barrels. You will learn how to start with this obstacles so that you will be able to pass it including the flying change.

MODULE 5: Cups

You will learn how to do the cup including riding backwards with the slalom and what you need to pay attention when you ride the obstacle.

MODULE 6: Bell

Learn how you ride the bell. You will learn the bell straight forward as well as the more difficult obstacle with an L-shape.

MODULE 7: Side pass

Learn to ride the side pass from first step to the complete bar without any problems. You get tipps and tricks how you will get your green horse doing the side bar.

Nuno Avelar

Nuno Avelar was rider of the Portuguese Working Equitation National Team, with that he became 2013 in European Chamption in Italy and 2014 World Chamption in Austria. In the individual Challenge he won in both Championships the bronce medall. Furthermore he won in 2012, 2013 and 2014 the Portuguese Championship.

Nuno Avelar is professionel rider and und trainer in the Working Equitation and in the classic ibrian Dressage. Er finished his education for trainer and "Bereiter" at the portuguese "Coudelaria de Alter“ and he has the international FEI trainer license.

Since 2017 he is trainer of the German Working Equitation National Team.

He gives trainings all over Europe.
